AstroPay is increasing its backing of Ukrainian competitors at the 2022 Maccabiah Games hosted in Israel. This international competition, similar to the Olympics, is exclusively for Jewish athletes and those with Israeli citizenship.
Close to 10,000 participants from 80 nations will vie for victory in over 40 disciplines. Among them is a determined contingent of 36 Ukrainians, bravely facing the ongoing conflict in their nation.
Originating from cities such as Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro, these 23 female and 13 male athletes will participate in sports including fencing, swimming, and track and field. AstroPay’s Chief Executive Officer, Mikael Lijtenstein, conveyed significant satisfaction in aiding the team.
“The Maccabiah Games possess a storied past, and we are incredibly privileged to assist the Ukrainian team during these difficult circumstances,” remarked Lijtenstein. “We extend our best wishes for their success and are confident they will bring honor to their country.”
